Understanding Alarm Types and Configuration
The Crowcon T4 supports two alarm settings: latched and non-latching. These settings determine whether an alarm clears automatically or requires manual intervention.
Important: Instantaneous Alarm 2 is always latched and cannot be changed to non-latching.
Latched Alarms
A latched alarm requires manual intervention to reset, but only when gas levels have dropped below the alarm threshold.
- Instantaneous Alarm 1: Can be cancelled by pressing the operator button only after gas levels return to safe limits.
- Instantaneous Alarm 2: Must also be manually cancelled using the operator button once the gas levels have dropped below the alarm level.
Non-Latching Alarms
A non-latching alarm resets automatically when gas levels return to normal, without requiring user input.
- Instantaneous Alarm 1: Will automatically reset once gas levels drop below the alarm threshold.
- Instantaneous Alarm 2: Always behaves as a latched alarm, meaning it must be manually cancelled even if the gas levels return to normal.
Steps to Reset Crowcon T4 After an Alarm
- Check the gas levels – Ensure that gas concentrations have dropped below the alarm threshold.
- Determine the alarm type – If it’s latched, manual reset is required; if it’s non-latching, it may reset on its own.
- Press the operator button – If required, press the button to acknowledge and cancel the alarm.
- Monitor the device – The T4 will continue to log gas levels even when an alarm is active, ensuring full data recording.
