Drager Gas Tubes

View our range of Drager gas tubes, perfect for classic gas analysis, including short-term tubes for spot measurements of more than 500 different gases.

Ideal for environments where immediate and accurate detection of toxic chemical agents is crucial.

These tubes are suitable for manual and automatic tube pumps and can detect up to five different chemical agents simultaneously, all within just five minutes.

We can also provide airflow testers and Drager Tube test sets.

Our range of Drager tubes is available for a wide variety of gases and vapours, including toxic gases such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, and nitrogen dioxide, as well as flammable gases such as methane and propane. They are used in a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, and healthcare.

How Drager Gas Tubes Work

Gas tubes work by a process called diffusion. The gas or vapour in the air diffuses into the tube, where it reacts with the reagent. The colour changes are proportional to the concentration of the gas or vapour in the air.

The rate of diffusion is affected by several factors, including the concentration of the gas or vapour in the air, the temperature, and the humidity. For this reason, it is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully when using gas tubes.

The colour change on a gas tube is compared to a colour chart to determine the concentration of the gas or vapour in the air. The colour chart is provided by the manufacturer and is specific to each type of gas tube.

It is important to note that the colour chart is only accurate for a specific temperature and humidity. If the temperature or humidity is outside of the range specified on the colour chart, the reading may be inaccurate.

Advantages

Drager gas tubes offer advantages over other types of gas detectors, including:

Portability:
Drager gas tubes are small and lightweight, making them easy to transport and use in a variety of settings.

Low cost:
Drager gas tubes are relatively inexpensive, making them a cost-effective option for many applications.

Ease of use:
Drager gas tubes are easy to use and require no special training to operate.
