The Drager Formaldehyde Activation Tube (Pack of 10) is a precise tool for measuring formaldehyde concentrations in the air. These tubes work in conjunction with the Formaldehyde 0.2/a tube 8101141 to extend the measuring range. The pack contains 10 tubes with a shelf life of up to 2 years.
These activation tubes offer several advantages. Firstly, they are simple to use and require no calibration. Additionally, they are portable and cost-effective. The tubes can measure formaldehyde concentrations ranging from 0.04 to 5 ppm, depending on the number of pump strokes used.
When using these tubes, a colour change from white to pink indicates the presence of formaldehyde. Moreover, the tubes can detect other substances such as acetaldehyde, buten-2-al, and vinyl acetate. However, it’s important to note that certain substances like styrene and furfuryl alcohol may cause yellowish-brown discoloration.
To ensure accurate results, the tubes should be used in ambient temperatures between 10 to 40°C. Furthermore, they work best with absolute humidity levels between 3 to 15 mg/L.
