Thanks to its advanced material and innovative design, the Dräger PSS 4000 is one of the lightest self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBA) available.

With unmatched wearer comfort and exceptional pneumatic performance, the PSS 4000 SCBA provides the user with simplicity and ease of use in a wide range of demanding environments. Its lightweight construction and innovative design provide a near-effortless donning process.

The Dräger PSS 4000 is light robust and simple to use:

The PSS 4000 is one of the lightest professional self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBA) on the market, mirroring the excellence of our extended-duration SCBA range. Its carrying harness is made from advanced composite materials and equipped with a quick-release fastener with stainless steel buckles and an intuitive pull-forward mechanism – this allows for effortless adjustment to suit individual needs.

Enhanced carrying system:

The PSS 4000 is an extremely durable carrying system that features an ultra-lightweight, high-strength composite carrying space frame. It provides outstanding thermal, impact and chemical resistance. This PSS’s carrying system follows the wearer’s natural contours, improving stability and reducing back strain, muscle stress and fatigue.

The carrying system has been designed to provide optimal comfort for the wearer’s shoulders and waist with an even load distribution, securely in line with the body‘s centre of gravity.

Aside from maximum comfort, the Dräger PSS 4000 also utilises state-of-the-art materials. These have been designed to withstand the intense wear and tear firefighters face every day. As well as providing an enhanced level of comfort, this product comes with hardwearing stainless-steel buckles and long-life blend webbing made from aramid fibre.

The Dräger PSS 4000 is easy to maintain and service:

The PSS 4000 is very easy to clean, convenient to service and comes with new features that help reduce downtime and maintenance costs. The harness is attached to the carrying frame by a single-piece retention method and the first-stage pressure reducer is fully integrated. The material used for the closed single-piece harness and waist pad prevents excessive water absorption, which reduces cleaning and drying time.

Integrated hoses:

To prevent snagging or getting tangled in confined or difficult spaces, the medium-pressure gauge hoses and air supply are completely integrated into the carrying frame. Also, the wearer can re-route the hoses from one side of the frame to the other whilst also making it easier to replace the hoses when required.

Wireless option with PASS:

With the added safety of your team in mind, the Dräger Bodyguard 1500 can provide an advanced personal alert safety system (PASS).

This PASS provides continuous wireless data transmission, and breathing protection control, and a non-motion-detector generates visual and acoustic alerts if the user becomes motionless, is running out of air or is exposed to extreme heat.

The Tx Gauge is backlit making it easy to see and wirelessly transmits its pressure data to the Bodyguard 1500, and the Dräger FPS 7000 Head-Up-Display (HUD) is being used. This feature provides visual notification from the Tx Gauge and acoustic notification from the PASS when the air supply drops below user-defined safety limits.

Additional options:

The Dräger PSS 4000 Has been meticulously designed to guarantee a lifetime of dependable service whilst simultaneously minimizing the costs of ownership, all while offering a broad choice of safety options to suit every eventuality:

  • Dräger FPS 7000 full facemask configuration options (as well as Panorama Nova®)
