The MultiRAE is one of the most advanced portable chemical detectors available, offering exceptional versatility and real-time performance.

Description

It supports up to six gas sensors and provides wireless connectivity, allowing users to monitor gas readings and alarm statuses remotely from virtually any location. Designed for adaptability, the MultiRAE can be configured with 25 interchangeable sensors, including LEL, PID, NDIR, and a range of exotic gases such as ammonia, chlorine, and formaldehyde. These sensors can be easily swapped out in the field, making it ideal for a wide variety of applications.

This multi-gas monitor is built with safety and durability in mind. It features five alarm systems, including a man-down alert, and is IP65-rated for dust and water resistance. The rugged design is complemented by user-friendly features such as a flippable screen, intuitive icon-based interface, and large buttons that remain easy to operate even when wearing multiple layers of gloves. Its onboard gas libraries support detection of 190 VOCs and 55 combustible gases, while the battery offers the longest run-time in its class.

The MultiRAE also supports continuous data logging for up to six months when using five sensors around the clock. Calibration and bump testing are fully automated via the AutoRAE 2 system, and device management is simplified through integration with Honeywell’s Sotera™ Express platform.

Ideal for use in demanding environments, the MultiRAE is well-suited to applications such as clandestine labs, confined space entry, hazmat response, environmental remediation, emergency and residential response, fracking, exploration, plant shutdowns, urban search and rescue, and venue protection.

FAQs
How often should I perform a bump test and calibration on the MultiRAE?

Honeywell recommends conducting a bump test before each day’s use to ensure that all sensors and alarms are functioning correctly. If the instrument fails a bump test, it should be calibrated before further use. Additionally, even if the device passes daily bump tests, it should be calibrated at least once every six months, depending on usage and exposure to contaminants.

Can I replace sensors in the field, and how many sensor options are available?

Yes, the MultiRAE is designed with 25 field-interchangeable sensor options, allowing users to customize the device based on specific monitoring needs. Sensors can be easily swapped in the field, providing flexibility for various applications.

What types of alarms does the MultiRAE feature?

The MultiRAE is equipped with five alarm types, including audible, visual, and vibration alarms. It also features a man-down alarm, which activates if the user becomes immobile, enhancing safety in hazardous environments.

Is the MultiRAE suitable for use in hazardous environments?

Absolutely. The MultiRAE is IP65-rated, making it dust-tight and water-resistant. Its rugged design ensures durability in challenging conditions, making it suitable for various applications, including emergency response, industrial hygiene, and environmental monitoring.

How can I manage and configure the MultiRAE remotely?

The MultiRAE supports wireless connectivity, allowing real-time access to instrument readings and alarm statuses from any location. For device management and configuration, Honeywell offers the Sotera™ Express software, which facilitates tasks such as data downloading, device configuration, and firmware updates.
