FAQs
What are the key features of the QRAE 3?

The QRAE 3 offers real-time wireless communication capabilities, allowing access to instrument readings and alarm statuses from any location. It features a man-down alarm, five-way local and remote wireless notification of alarm conditions, an intuitive two-button user interface, and a strong, protective, concussion-proof design. The device is also IP65/67 water- and dust-resistant.

What is the Man Down Alarm feature?

The Man Down Alarm is a critical safety feature that activates when the QRAE 3 detects that it has been motionless for a preset period, indicating that the user may be incapacitated. Upon activation, the device emits audible, visual, and vibration alarms locally and can send remote notifications if connected to a wireless network. This ensures that assistance can be dispatched promptly.

How is the QRAE 3 calibrated?

Calibration of the QRAE 3 involves zero and span calibrations to ensure accurate readings. The device should be zero-calibrated in clean air or with a cylinder of clean zero air. Span calibration requires applying a known concentration of calibration gas to the sensors. The QRAE 3 supports both single and multi-sensor calibration modes. It’s recommended to perform bump tests periodically to confirm sensor and alarm functionality.

What are the maintenance requirements?

Regular maintenance of the QRAE 3 includes routine calibration, sensor replacement as needed, and ensuring the battery is charged. The device’s datalogging feature stores measured gas concentrations, dates, times, and other parameters, which can be downloaded to a computer for record-keeping and analysis.
