Description
Talentum 16000 Flame Detector IR2 (Ex d)
Advanced Dual-IR Sensing Technology
The Talentum 16000 IR2 (Ex d) flame detector operates by sensing the infrared (IR) radiation produced during combustion. Signals from two independent IR sensors are continuously analysed to identify the distinct flicker frequency and spectral characteristics associated with a true flame. By using this dual-sensor configuration, the detector can effectively differentiate genuine fire events from false sources of radiation, ensuring dependable and precise early fire detection.
Broad Fuel Source Detection
One of the key strengths of this advanced detection technique is its capability to detect flames generated by a broad range of fuel types. This includes hydrocarbon fires involving oil and gas, as well as certain inorganic fires. As the system does not depend on smoke particles to activate, the Talentum IR2 (Ex d) is particularly well suited to open or ventilated environments where smoke may dissipate rapidly, limiting the effectiveness of traditional smoke detectors.
Engineered for Industrial Environments
Designed with industrial reliability in mind, the detector is enclosed within a rugged housing that provides robust protection against dust and water ingress. Its efficient low-power operation, combined with flexible output options such as conventional 2-wire, 4–20 mA, and relay contacts, enables straightforward integration with existing fire alarm panels and industrial control systems, making it a versatile and dependable solution for specialist flame detection applications.
