Hydrogen Fluoride (HF)

Hydrogen fluoride (HF) commonly used to in manufacturing items such as refrigerants, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, aluminium, plastics and electrical components. In its gaseous form, HF is colourless and odourless, and is difficult to detect. It is highly toxic to humans and can damage cells in the body, causing them to not work properly.

Overexposure to HF can damage the lungs, eyes, nose and respiratory tract, while high levels can cause death from an irregular heartbeat. It is important to keep workers safe from exposure to harmful levels by equipping them with a suitable gas monitor. Here at Rockall Safety, you can find a range of hydrogen fluoride detectors, designed to protect your workers while on site.
