Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is a colourless, odourless gas made up of one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms. It is a naturally occurring component of the Earth’s atmosphere. In normal outdoor air, CO₂ is present at low concentrations of around 0.04% (approximately 400 ppm).
Carbon dioxide is produced through natural processes such as respiration, as well as through human activities including combustion of fossil fuels. In commercial and industrial settings, CO₂ is commonly found in breweries and beverage production, food processing and packaging, refrigeration systems, greenhouses, laboratories, fire suppression systems, and confined spaces.
Rockall Safety supplies gas detection solutions capable of monitoring carbon dioxide levels. Devices such as the Blackline Safety G8 and the BW Flex.
