It is a hydrochlorofluoroolefin (HFO) with the chemical formula C₃HClF₃.
R1233zd(E) is primarily used in centrifugal chillers, large air conditioning systems, and industrial refrigeration applications where R11 or R123 were historically used. Its properties make it ideal for retrofitting older systems or designing new low-pressure chillers with high energy efficiency.
