Description

Honeywell XNX Fixed Gas Detector

The Honeywell XNX Fixed Gas Detector is a highly versatile and reliable solution designed to support a wide range of gas sensors on a single, common platform. Its modular design allows flexible selection of inputs and outputs, helping to reduce installation time and overall costs. Built for demanding industrial environments, the XNX is suitable for applications across oil & gas, chemical processing, wastewater, and other hazardous industries.

Designed with ease of use and low maintenance in mind, the XNX integrates seamlessly with other safety systems via a digital bus network. It works alongside Honeywell solutions such as Searchline Excel and Optima, as well as industry-standard PLCs and third-party gas controllers. The detector supports electrochemical, infrared, and catalytic bead sensors, using standard 4–20 mA wiring with HART communication as standard. Optional Modbus, relay outputs, and local HART configuration tools provide additional flexibility for system integration and diagnostics.

The Honeywell XNX features a robust, industrial-grade enclosure available in aluminium or stainless steel with a marine-grade coating for enhanced durability. Five threaded cable entries (metric or NPT) and multiple mounting options including wall, ceiling, and pipe mounting make installation straightforward in both indoor and outdoor locations. With an IP66 / NEMA 4X rating and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +65°C (sensor dependent), the XNX is built to perform reliably in harsh environments.

A custom backlit LCD with a high-resolution dot-matrix display provides clear alarm, status, and diagnostic information, even in low-light conditions. With over 200 configuration options and compliance with Class I / Class II explosion-proof requirements, the Honeywell XNX offers exceptional adaptability while maintaining the highest safety standards.
