BW Solo Single Gas Detector (Black)

NOTE: This product is also available in yellow.

The Honeywell BW Solo is a portable, single-gas detector designed to keep workers safe in hazardous environments. It offers a unique combination of user-friendly operation, reliable performance, and easy maintenance, making it a valuable tool for a variety of industries. Data can be downloaded onto the PC, which in turn can be managed through the Honeywell software, designed to automate key compliance tasks. Expertly designed to accommodate 14 distinctly different gas types including ammonia.

Key Features of the BW Solo

  • Easy to Service: One of the BW Solo’s biggest strengths is its serviceability. Unlike traditional gas detectors, the BW Solo doesn’t require disassembly to replace sensors, batteries, or filters. This simplifies maintenance and reduces downtime, lowering the overall cost of ownership.
  • Multiple Sensor Options: The BW Solo boasts a wide range of sensor options, allowing users to select the appropriate detection for specific hazards. This versatility makes it suitable for various applications, from monitoring for common gases like carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen sulphide (H2S) to detecting exotic hazards in specialised environments.
  • BLE Connectivity: The wireless version of the BW Solo features Bluetooth connectivity. This enables real-time monitoring of worker safety through Honeywell’s mobile apps. Supervisors can receive instant notifications if a gas leak is detected, allowing for a faster and more informed response time.
  • User-Friendly Operation: The BW Solo is designed with simplicity in mind. It features a clear, easy-to-read display that can be customized for multiple languages. Single button operation allows for simplicity, minimizing training requirements and ensuring workers can focus on their tasks.
  • Lightweight and Rugged: The BW Solo is built to be tough. Its small lightweight design makes it comfortable to carry throughout a workday without adding unnecessary weight or bulk. The rugged construction ensures it can withstand the rigors of harsh environments.
  • Data Management: Data from the BW Solo can be downloaded to a PC for analysis and record-keeping. This data can be integrated with Honeywell’s Safety Suite software platform, enabling companies to automate tasks like regulatory compliance management.

Applications for the BW Solo

The BW Solo’s adaptability makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Oil and Gas Industry: Monitoring for flammable and toxic gases in refineries, pipelines, and drilling operations.
  • Chemical Industry: Detecting leaks of hazardous chemicals in production facilities and storage areas.
  • Construction Industry: Ensuring worker safety in confined spaces like tunnels and storage tanks.
  • Fire and Emergency Services: Locating gas leaks during emergency response situations.
  • Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants: Monitoring for harmful gases like chlorine and hydrogen sulphide.

The Honeywell BW Solo is a valuable tool for any workplace where exposure to hazardous gases is a potential risk. Its combination of ease of use, reliability, and advanced features makes it a cost-effective solution for enhancing worker safety and regulatory compliance.
