The MSA ALTAIR 4XR Multi-Gas Detector comes with a charcoal housing and is built for use in demanding environments such as fire service, industrial work, mining, oil and gas, utilities, and contracting.
One of the key features to the MSA ALTAIR 4XR Multi-Gas Detector is a compliance indicator that shows whether the device has been bump tested. It remains compatible with the MSA Galaxy GX2 automated test system, and the box includes the detector, charger, calibration cap, and tubing. Backed by a 4-year warranty, the 4XR is known for its rugged build, capable of withstanding 25 drops from 1.2 metres and even surviving a 7.5-metre drop onto concrete. It holds an IP68 rating, making it dust and waterproof, and can operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to +60°C. The detector logs over 500 events, senses gases twice as fast as industry standards, and features tools for quick compliance checks.
It also uses less gas and time for bump tests and calibration and offers safety alerts like MotionAlert and InstantAlert. Sensor configurations include various combinations for LEL, oxygen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide, with colour options in charcoal grey or glow-in-the-dark.
