FAQs
What gases can the Dräger X-am 5600 detect?

The Dräger X-am 5600 can detect up to six gases simultaneously. Depending on configuration, it uses infrared (IR) and electrochemical sensors to detect gases such as carbon dioxide (CO₂), oxygen (O₂), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulphide (H₂S), hydrocarbons, and other toxic or combustible gases. Its ability to combine infrared and electrochemical sensors allows for reliable multi-gas detection across a range of industrial environments.

Is the Dräger X-am 5600 suitable for explosive environments?

Yes, the X-am 5600 is ATEX-certified and approved for use in Ex-Zone 0, which means it is safe to use in areas where explosive gas atmospheres are present continuously or for long periods.

What type of sensors are used in the X-am 5600?

The device uses a combination of infrared (IR) sensors and Dräger’s XXS electrochemical sensors. IR sensors are particularly useful for detecting gases like CO₂ and hydrocarbons, while electrochemical sensors are commonly used for toxic gases and oxygen.

How is the Dräger X-am 5600 powered?

It is powered by a rechargeable battery pack or standard alkaline batteries, depending on the chosen configuration. The rechargeable version provides long battery life and is more cost-effective over time.
