MSA Bacharach MGS-550 Dual Gas Detector
Bacharach’s advanced MGS-550 Dual Gas Detector supports any combination of sensor technologies, including electrochemical, semiconductor (MOS), catalytic bead, or infrared, within a single platform for exceptional gas detection capability. It complies with ASHRAE 15 and EN 378 requirements. The MGS-550 can be easily integrated with any central control system using current or voltage analog outputs, or via the Modbus RTU interface. With three user-configurable relays, it can also operate as a stand-alone unit, eliminating the need to connect alarm devices back to a central control panel.
The intuitive menu structure is consistent across the entire product range, reducing the level of training required for installation and maintenance. At any time, the unit can be upgraded from a single-sensor to a dual-sensor system by simply registering an additional sensor. The MSA Bacharach MGS-550 Dual Gas Detector includes two analog outputs, which can be configured either as redundant outputs for one sensor or to transmit signals from two separate sensors.

- Configurable analog outputs (4–20 mA, 0–5 V, 0–10 V, 1–5 V, or 2–10 V) together with Modbus communications enable seamless integration with Bacharach’s MGS-408 controller or third-party BMS/BAS systems.
- Three user-configurable relays (fault, low alarm, and high alarm) can activate external beacons, sounders, ventilation systems, or other safety measures.
- Integrated audible and visual alarms help meet refrigeration safety compliance requirements without the need for additional hardware.
